Instructions and FAQ
How do I pixelate part of an image?
Open a photo or screenshot, then drag with your mouse or finger to select a rectangular area. Adjust the pixel size, click “Confirm area”, and select the next area. Download the image when you are done.
Zoom and keyboard shortcuts
Scroll up to zoom in and down to zoom out around your pointer. Images open at 100% actual size; small images enlarge to fit the canvas. Click the zoom percentage to return to 100%, or Fit to canvas to see the whole image. Enter confirms, Esc cancels, Ctrl or ⌘ + Z undoes, and Shift + Ctrl or ⌘ + Z redoes.
What changes in the downloaded image?
The image keeps its original pixel dimensions. JPG, PNG, and WebP keep the original filename and format; other formats become a still PNG. JPEG and WebP are re-encoded; PNG is saved losslessly and preserves transparency. No watermark is added. Confirm or cancel any pending selection before downloading.
Are images uploaded to a server?
No. Reading, pixelating, and exporting happen entirely in your browser. No account is required, and images are not saved on a server or in local storage. Closing or refreshing the page clears the current edit.

Image compression
Single and batch compression use the same settings. Images are encoded sequentially in a Web Worker. You can cancel, and failed files do not block the queue. Duplicate ZIP filenames are numbered automatically. JPEG, WebP, and AVIF are lossy and may alter image details; PNG optimization is lossless. Animated images become still images. Results can sometimes be larger; the list reports this accurately.
